What is so great about shakespeare?

I never really understood his writings or cared for that matter......it didn't make sense to me and it was so BORING! Like wow a love story and then the families don't like eachother..... why does writing a story about something like that make someone famous? A third grader could write a story about that. And then now they're talking about he could have been a stoner. It's like oh so THAT'S why I couldn't understand it and it seems irrelevant. Someone please enlighten me.
