Why does my xbox live frequently disconnect?

Regardless of game (I mostly play halo reach), my xbox live frequently disconnects. What is really strange is that my NAT is OPEN. Anybody know how I can prevent xbox live from disconnecting so frequently (every half hour at least, mostly in-game)?
