Why are we so obsessed with famous ppl?

See this is most common in teens or young girls but I'm not saying adults or boys army obsessed. But why are some girls so obsessed with famous boys to the extent that they dream up a fantasy of let's say them meeting and the guy falling for the girl. Even though deep down that girl knows it will never happen. I'm not questioning why people like certin actors or bands, becuase i enjoy good acting and usually like someones acting or singing better than others but why do people obsesse over them. Like dream of marrying them and what not?or go nuts when they talk to them? They are normal people. They just have there talents reconized. See people don't obsesse over certin politics (there might be some) as much as a boy singer or actor! And the political people have talent to goveren which is wayyyy more important than acting or singing (unless used in a way to uplift ppl). Don't get me wrong becuase I love a good movie and song. But I never go to concerts or dream of meeting them in real life. Why can't we treat them as normal people. Like instead of going "OMG it's blahblahblah I love him", can't we go "hey it's so-n-so from that one movie. He was pretty good" and move on with our lives!? Please tell me (I'm looking mainly an answer from an actul fan girl) why are they so obsessed?! (ps sorry for spelling on a phone here)
