What are my options now?

Unfortunately, the Armed forces have a great deal of latitude in terms of what they will, or will not accept. Ultimately, they really do not have to see anyone in person to make their determinations, but you DO have ONE recourse. You can try contacting your state Representative and Congressman; they have the power to get a response and can invoke action. Also, because they are here to serve the needs of their constituency (you), they are obliged to be of assistance to your cause.
