How to get a clear connection (NAT type 1 or 2) with my ps3 connecting to a Netopia Model 3347-02?

I have tried using the pinhole feature and that didnt work and I have tried using the IP passthrough and that did work and I got Nat type 1 but the connection would constantly disconnect from my ps3. I want people to respond who have this exact router and have successfully gotten something other than NAT type 3 on their PS3. Thanks!
