Have most famous bassists had bass lessons?

I really like the bass. I recently bought one. I was originally going to teach myself how to play, but I've started considering bass lessons. I decided to see if my favorite bassists took lessons but I couldn't find out no matter where I looked. So have most famous bassists had bass lessons?
