Why can't My friends on CoD:Black Ops join me? Or why can't I join them?

I used to have NAT type 3 but today I just changed it expecting big results on finding matches and friends being able to join my party, but it never changed. Not a single one of my friends(except others with type 2 or type 1) could join my party and I need help.

Hi a couple of days ago i wanted to change my nat type on blacks ops from strict to open, i did a bit of research and found out there was away to do this. It involved going to my router settings and for that it requires a password but i had forgotten it, it said to reset my router to default settings (I have a BT Home Hub), after i did this i could not connect to it on My ps3 at all. It just gets past putting in the WPA in then it says it has timed out trying to get the ip address. I was told that if i reset my ps3 to defaults it would work but still no luck please help?!

As a common pc user I tired to forward the port using the usual methods but the default gateway which I got from the cmd ipconfig/all command are useless. Pls help. I just want to play that game.

While playing Modern Warfare 2, my matchmaking takes longer then other people and i often can't communicate through the mic. This is happening on Nat type 3, while i am okay with these problems, what really irrates me is that how i cant host a private game and if i join a private game, i start lagging too much. this isn't the game, i have had the same problem with black ops too. My router is TL-WR741N.
